Disclosed is an apparatus for cleaning a ventilation bar and a method for controlling the same. The apparatus includes: a support bar arranged on one side of the ventilation bar; a cleaning unit which hits the ventilation bar to remove ore attached on the ventilation bar; and a transferring part which is supported by the support bar and transfers the cleaning unit so as to make the cleaning unit hit the ventilation bar.
