<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for detecting bacterial abnormal accumulation capable of automatically detecting a statistically significant abnormal accumulation of bacteria from a bacteria examination result.SOLUTION: The method includes: counting the number of patients positive to bacterium based on the kind of bacteria relevant to every kind of bacteria as the detection targets in every target points of bacterial abnormal accumulation detection, at prescribed period in prescribed observation duration; calculating the number of patients positive to bacterium, the number of patients providing sample and the probability of Bernouli trials which is established in nonbiased separation of bacteria by using binominal distribution of the positive to bacterium for each bacteria on the basis of the null hypothesis that the separation of bacteria is not biased and affected only by accident; and determining that, when the calculated probability is smaller than a predetermined value, an abnormal accumulation is found due to biased separation of bacteria with a small probability that the separation is affected only by accident.</p> |
