PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient banking angle by reducing the size of a mechanical transmission in a direction along an axis line of a transmission shaft in a power transmission system of a saddle-riding type vehicle that includes the mechanical transmission including a planetary gear mechanism and a speed change clutch for shifting a variable speed gear of the planetary gear mechanism.SOLUTION: In the power transmission system of a saddle-riding type vehicle, a speed change clutch 19 is disposed concentrically to the transmission shaft 14 for inputting the power from a power source to the side of the mechanical transmission 17A, a countershaft 54A disposed while spaced apart from the transmission shaft 14 in a vehicle longitudinal direction and having an axis line parallel to the transmission shaft 14 is rotatably born to a transmission case 20 housing the mechanical transmission 17A, and an output member 80 of the speed change clutch 19 is linked and coupled to 68 that is one of components constituting the planetary gear mechanism 18 disposed concentrically to the countershaft 54A.
