<p>This substrate for display devices is provided with: a transparent substrate; and a black matrix that is formed by sequentially laminating a reflectance-reducing layer and a light-blocking layer, which contains carbon as a main material of a light-blocking colorant, on the transparent substrate in this order. The film thickness of the reflectance-reducing layer is within the range from 0.1μm to 0.7μm (inclusive). With respect to the reflectance-reducing layer, the effective optical density obtained by multiplying the film thickness by the optical density per unit film thickness is within the range from 0 to 0.4 (inclusive). The reflectance of the black matrix as measured through the transparent substrate is within the range from 0.05% to 0.3% (inclusive) on the basis of the reflectance of an aluminum film.</p> |
