PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet-shielding coating which has excellent shielding ability against ultraviolet light, especially long wavelength ultraviolet light (UVA), and is safer to human body.SOLUTION: Provided is an ultraviolet-shielding coating containing a monovalent copper compound as an ultraviolet-shielding component and/or an iodide and a solvent. Also provided is the ultraviolet-shielding coating where the solvent does not contain in the molecule a nitrogen atom having an unshared electron pair and does not contain a sulfur atom having an unshared electron pair. Further provided is the ultraviolet-shielding coating where the monovalent copper compound and/or the iodide has a particle diameter of 1 nm or more and 100 nm or less.
