<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable satisfactory transmission of stereo image data between apparatuses.SOLUTION: Stereo image data to display a stereoscopic image is transmitted to an external apparatus via a transmission path, through a plurality of channels by differential signals. Data for transmitting such stereo image data is acquired by an interface. The transmission method information of the stereo image data that can be handled by the external apparatus and transmitted from the external apparatus via the transmission path is received. Based on the received transmission method information, a predetermined transmission method is selected from stereo image data transmission methods that can be handled by the external apparatus, as a transmission method of the stereo image data. The transmitted stereo image data transmission method information is inserted into a blanking period of the stereo image data, and transmitted to the external apparatus via the transmission path.</p> |
