An organic electroluminescent element comprising: an anode; a cathode; a light emitting layer formed between the anode and the cathode; and a hole transport layer containing a hole transporting material between the anode and the light emitting layer, wherein: the light emitting layer comprises two or more layers, each of which contains a different light emitting material; the light emitting layer includes a layer formed by a wet film forming method, and a layer formed by a vacuum deposition method, in this order from the anode side; the layer formed by a wet film forming method is a layer containing a phosphorescent-light emitting material and a charge transport material, both of which are a low molecular compound; the layer formed by a vacuum deposition method is a layer containing a fluorescent-light emitting material and a charge transport material, both of which are a low molecular compound; the fluorescent-light emitting material is a compound of formula (B): wherein: Ar25 is naphthyl, anthranil, phenanthryl, pyrenyl, chrysenyl, coronyl, biphenyl, terphenyl, diphenylanthranil, carbazolyl, benzoquinolyl, fluoranthenyl, acenaphthofluoranthenyl, or stilbene, which are substituted or unsubstituted;Ar26 and Ar27 are each independently phenyl, naphthyl, anthranil, phenanthryl, pyrenyl, chrysenyl, coronyl, biphenyl, terphenyl, pyrrolyl, furanyl, thiophenyl, benzothiophenyl, oxadiazolyl, diphenylanthranil, indolyl, carbazolyl, pyridyl, benzoquinolyl, fluoranthenyl, acenaphthofluoranthenyl, or stilbene, which are substituted or unsubstituted;when Ar25, Ar26, and Ar27 have a substituent, the substituent is at least one of alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, aryl of 5 to 40 nuclear atoms, amino groups substituted with aryl of 5 to 40 nuclear atoms, ester groups having aryl of 5 to 40 nuclear atoms, ester groups having alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cyano, nitro, and halogen atoms;q is an integer of 1 to 4; the phosphorescent-light emitting material is a compound of formula (III): ML(q-j)L′j  (III), wherein: M is a metal;q represents the valency of the metal;L and L′ are a 2-arylpyridine ligand; andj is the number 0, 1, or 2; and the hole transporting material is at least one of polyarylamine derivatives having a crosslinking group, and polyarylene derivatives having a crosslinking group.
