<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving type elevator which is pulled by the weight of the car or a counter weight and can run with low torque.SOLUTION: Counter weights include a counter weight for the whole area lifting-guided throughout the whole area and a counter weight for low stories which is lifting-guided, together with the counter weight for the whole area, exclusively in the high-story area and separated from and connected to the counter weight for the whole area at a middle story. When the car is at a low story, the two counter weights are located at a high story in a connected state, allowing a start of the car in the ascending direction, with passengers in the car of a number equal to or smaller than a reference value. When the car is at a high story, the two counter weights are in a separated state, and the counter weight for the whole area is located at a low story, while the counter weight for low stories is stopped at the middle story. When the number of passengers in the car exceeds the reference value, a start of the car in the descending direction is allowed.</p> |
