The present invention relates to a method for controlling a closed circuit television which includes the steps of: receiving a photographed image from an image photographing unit; calculating a brightness value for a background image of the photographed image; generating a control signal for opening or closing an iris based on the brightness value; and opening or closing the iris based on the control signal.
