<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed tool steel capable of maintaining excellent properties of SKH59 and fining eutectic carbide in a cast structure, a material for a tip consisting of the high speed tool steel, a cutting tool manufactured by welding the material for the tip to a body material and a method of manufacturing the material for the tip.SOLUTION: There is provided a high speed tool steel containing, by mass%, C:0.5 to 1.5%, Si:1.0% or less, Mn:1.0% or less, Cr:3.0 to 5.0%, one or two kind of W and Mo with a formula (W+2Mo):15.0 to 25.0%, V:1.0 to less than 1.5%, Co:5.0 to 10.0% and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and further Ca:0.0005 to 0.004% and N:0.005 to 0.015%. There are also provided a material for a tip consisting of the high speed tool steel, a cutting tool manufactured by welding the material for the tip to a body material and a method of manufacturing the material for the tip.</p> |
