PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for carrier assignment, configuration and switching for multicarrier wireless communications.SOLUTION: A method for multicarrier wireless communications comprises: receiving, by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), first configuration information for a set of downlink (DL) carriers and a set of uplink (UL) carriers; configuring, by the WTRU, the set of DL carriers and the set of UL carriers according to the first configuration information; receiving, by the WTRU, second configuration information for assigning a UL primary carrier in response to a handover command; configuring, by the WTRU, the UL primary carrier according to the second configuration information; receiving, by the WTRU, messages over the configured set of DL carriers; and transmitting, by the WTRU, control information for the configured set of DL carriers over a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) only on the UL primary carrier. |
