A remote surveillance system according to the present invention uses a street lamp and comprises: a control center accessible through an Internet network or a mobile communication network; at least one street lamp node which is installed at one side of the street lamp and, when a moving object approaching a facility or a transmitting object performing signal transmission and reception within a predetermined distance around the street lamp node is detected, reports detected information and image of the corresponding object to the control center; and a wireless access point which relays signal transmission between the street lamp node and the control center. Since the remote surveillance system according to the present invention installs a surveillance node on a street lamp facility, no separate power supply is required to install the surveillance system. Also, street lamp nodes (up to hundreds and thousands in number) are remotely and wirelessly controlled by using wireless access points, thereby simplifying an overall system and enabling effective monitoring on facilities. Furthermore, since the present invention also uses a street lamp lighting, a clear field of view at a brightness similar to that of day is guaranteed even when brightness is low or during night time, and no high cost equipment such as an infrared (IR) camera or a night surveillance camera is required. By adopting a solar battery panel and a wind generation wing for supplying power, stable power supply is guaranteed regardless of weather. Also, when surveiling facilities in island and mountain areas, the surveillance system can be operated without drawing power from outside. |
