PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low friction sliding mechanism capable of further reducing the friction coefficient of sliding members that slide relative to each other in the presence of a lubricant as compared to that of conventional sliding members. SOLUTION: In a sliding mechanism provided with sliding members that slide relative to each other in the presence of a lubricant containing one or both of an oxygen-containing organic compound and an aliphatic amine compound, a layer containing fluorinated diamond particles whose fluorine content is preferably 5-20% is formed on at least part of the sliding surfaces of the sliding members.
