It is an object of the present invention to prevent loosening of a screw member for fixing a handle arm (10) onto a handle shaft (8) in a fishing reel (1). The present fishing reel (1) includes a reel unit (2), a handle shaft (8), a handle arm (10), a handle knob (11), a nut (12, 42), and an anti-loosening member (24, 38, 47). The handle shaft (8) includes an anti-loosening engaging portion (15). The handle arm (10) includes an elongated hole (10c). The handle shaft (8) is inserted in the elongated hole (10c) to be non-rotatably engaged with the handle arm (10). A position of the handle shaft (8) in the elongated hole (10c) is adjustable. The anti-loosening member (24, 38, 47) is configured on the nut member (12, 42) and is selectively set in a first position and a second position. The anti-loosening member (24, 38, 47) is engaged with the anti-loosening engaging portion (15) in the first position to prevent the nut member (12, 42) from loosening, and is disengaged from the anti-loosening engaging portion (15) in the second position to allow the nut member (12, 42) to rotate in the loosening direction. |
