PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scream detection device with improved accuracy in scream detection in monitoring space including various environmental sounds and conversation voices. SOLUTION: The scream detection device 2 for which a characteristic that an ending of a scream is a vowel sound continuing for a specific time is utilized includes a microphone part 20 for collecting sounds in the monitoring space, a vowel extraction part 220 for extracting vowel parts of voices from the sounds collected by the microphone part, a scream determination part 221 for determining that the voice is a scream when an extracted vowel part has a volume above a specified scream volume and is continuing longer than a specified time span, and an abnormality output part 222 which outputs an abnormality signal when the scream determination part determines that it is a scream.
