PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas battery and a method of using the same that can increase a discharge capacity.SOLUTION: In an F type electrochemical cell 20, a positive electrode 23 using gas as positive electrode active material and a negative electrode 25 are disposed in a casing 21 to face each other with a separator 27 interposed therebetween, and electrolytic liquid 28 is filled between the positive electrode 23 and the negative electrode 25. A foam nickel plate 22 is mounted on the positive electrode 23, and pressed against the positive electrode 23 by a press member 29 so that gas can flow to the positive electrode 23 side. A tank 30 in which mixture gas containing oxygen and carbon dioxide of not less than 1 vol% to not more than 94 vol% is stocked is connected to the press member 29, and the mixture gas is supplied to the positive electrode 25 through the press member 29. The electrolytic liquid 28 contains ion solution of N-methyl-N-propylpiperidinium-bis(trifuoromethanesulfonyl)imide(PP13-TFSI) or the like. |
