PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize downtime in an image forming system of series tandem system and prevent image quality change in separate image forming apparatuses. SOLUTION: The image forming system includes: a first image forming apparatus 100 that has a control section configured such that in a case where a correction start notification is received, a determination is made whether the correction is possible; and a second image forming apparatus 300 that has a control section configured such that in a case where the timing of correction execution is perfect, the correction start notification is sent to the first image forming apparatus. In a case where the correction start notification is received from the control section of the second image forming apparatus and the correction is possible, the control section of the first image forming apparatus exerts control to send correction permission notification to the second image forming apparatus and to correct by the first image forming apparatus as well. In a case where a correction permission notification is received from the control section of the first image forming apparatus, the control section of the second image forming apparatus exerts control to correct by the second image forming apparatus.
