PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground structure for allowing easy bar arrangement work in a transition section from a concrete skeleton to a steel shell skeleton. SOLUTION: The underground structure includes the concrete skeleton A and the steel shell skeleton B combined. The steel shell skeleton B has a plurality of steel segments 60 provided side by side adjacent to the concrete skeleton A. The steel segment 60 has a skin plate 61 as an outer shell, a pair of main girder plates 62, 62 fixed to the skin plate 61, and a cover plate 66 opposed to the skin plate 61. The cover plate 66 being friction-joined to a connection plate 62a fastened to the main girder plate 62 with a bolt. In a space encircled by the skin plate 62, both main girder plates 62, 62 and the cover plate 66, main reinforcements 15 of the concrete skeleton A are arranged and concrete is filled.
