Embodiments of the present application provide a method and apparatus for storing a CB. By using the solutions provided by the embodiments of the present application, when the size of the buffer in the terminal device is smaller than the size of the buffer at the rate matching at the base station, the solutions for storing the CB in the buffer which are used when the terminal device fails to decode the CB are provided. Thus, the solutions used when the size of the buffer in the terminal device is smaller than the size of the buffer at the rate matching at the base station are provided, and problems of lack of solutions are solved.
