A lighting system for use in a display has multiple lighting units 10 each of which has a housing containing a rechargeable battery and LEDs. The lighting units also have pairs of electrical contacts that connect the battery to a power supply, and a threaded portion on the housing. The system includes a charging unit 34 that has a power supply and multiple charging stations 36. Each charging station has electrical contacts that engage the contacts on the lighting units 10 and a corresponding threaded portion that engages the threaded portion on the lighting unit to retain the lighting unit in engagement with the charging station 36. |
