A machine for wrapping a bundle of cigarettes in metal-laminated paper has a shuttle 14 with a pocket 16; a pusher 17 to push the bundle into the pocket; multiple folders 18, 20, 22 to fold in the packets trailing ends; and a second pusher 94 to eject the wrapped packet. The ejection pusher could move through a slot in or between the folders. The first pusher could act on the unwrapped trailing end of the package. The ejection pusher could contact part of the trailing end of the package that has not been contacted by folders. A folder could be shaped complementary to the ejection pusher. The folders are ideally disposed along the four edges of the trailing face of the packet. Two bottom folders could allow passage of the second pusher between them. The folders could be moved by tracks on the guide member. The ejection pusher is not essential and the shuttle ideally reciprocates due to camming grippers on the drive mechanism. |
