Polysilazanes as anti-strip agents for asphalt

Asphalt binders are prepared by reacting chlorosilanes with ammonia to produce polysilazanes and combining the polysilazanes with asphalt binder. The asphalt binder composition may be combined with aggregate and used as pavement material. Sources for the chlorosilanes include waste chlorosilanes such as direct process residue. The polysilazanes function as anti-stripping agents.
