<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device for a vehicle, capable of appropriately protecting an occupant from an impact due to collision even when an airbag is not developed because a vehicle comes into collision with an object obliquely. <P>SOLUTION: In the occupant protection device, it is determined whether the vehicle comes into collision with the object, based on the detected acceleration VGFB of the vehicle and, when it is determined that the vehicle comes into collision with the object (step 8: YES), the air bag is developed (step 10). Further, when the air bag is not developed and the degree of change BLCH of the detected drawing amount of the webbing reaches the predetermined value BLCHREF (step 14: YES), a rotation driving mechanism is controlled such that the webbing is wound up (step 15). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
