PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intra-station device and a communication system that can implement low power consumption. SOLUTION: An intra-station device has a layer 2 switch comprising a shared buffer accumulating a downstream frame and a master station side device which receives the downstream frame from the layer 2 switch and transmits it to a plurality of slave station side devices. The master station side device determines whether a first slave station side device of the plurality of slave station side devices is in a sleep state in which power supply to a part of devices in the first slave station side device is stopped or not; and transmits a frame stop signal for making transmission to the downstream frame addressed to the first slave station side device in the sleep state be stopped. The layer 2 switch stops transmission of the downstream frame addressed to the first slave station side device of the downstream frames accumulated in the shared buffer, when receiving the frame stop signal.
