The present invention relates to a cereal-based product, which is characterized in that it changes or loses color upon addition of an aqueous liquid wherein the product of the present invention comprises a cereal base and at least one outer coating providing a dissolvable color, which is quickly or easily dissolvable in an aqueous liquid. The invention further relates to a process for obtaining the product and to a breakfast cereal comprising two types of cereals. The color change makes the consumption of breakfast cereals more interesting for children and adults. The cereals may be prepared by applying different coatings on a classic extruded cereal base, whereby an outer coating provides a certain color and is essentially washed off upon addition of milk. |
