SOLUTION: This production method includes using a material for a sintered material, in which 50 mass% or more of the high-alumina iron ore containing 0.6 mass% or more Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is blended with respect to the total amount of the iron ore, and a FeO source containing 15-90 mass% FeO is blended so that the mass ratio (FeO/Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>) of FeO in the FeO source to Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>in the high-alumina iron ore becomes 0.8 or more.
