The invention relates to a method by means of which a power-up or power-down sequence for installation components in an industrial installation is generated. In this method each of the installation components has logical dependencies on one or more other installation components, and said dependencies are to be taken into account during the power-up sequence. Information about a component-specific energy consumption course during the period of the power-up process is known for each installation component, and during the power-up process the total energy consumption in the industrial installation always remains below a previously defined energy threshold.
