Filaments, bands, and films are prepared by heating a polystyrol to a temperature between about 160 DEG C. and its decomposition temperature, forcing the mass through a nozzle or slit and stretching it to a diameter or width of about one-fifteenth or less of that of the nozzle or slit, respectively. The stretched mass may be subjected to further stretching at a temperature of about 100 DEG C. |
