PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the clearness or the like of printing, and quality thereof, in relation to the printing control of a printer. SOLUTION: This printer includes: a print head (16) including first and second pins (printing pins 44, 46) at adjacent positions in a head movement direction; a data generation part (bold-faced data generation part 12) for generating bold-faced data (8) from received raw data (raw print data 4); and a printing control part (14) for controlling printing by the first pin based on the raw data and the bold-faced data, and printing by the second pin at a print position by the first pine or at a position adjacent to the print position.
