<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball measuring device and ball measuring method capable of easily measuring velocity and a spin amount of a ball such as a golf ball. <P>SOLUTION: A ball measuring method includes; a process for creating a Doppler signal having a Doppler frequency based on a reception signal generated by antennas made up of directional antennas by transmitting a transmission wave to a ball which has a first region with electric wave reflectivity and a second region with the lower electric wave reflectivity than the first region based on a transmission signal supplied by the antennas and receiving a reflective wave reflected by the ball by the antennas; a process for creating signal intensity distribution data which show a distribution of signal strength of each frequency by frequency analysis of the Doppler signal; and a process for calculating moving velocity and a spin amount of the ball based on the signal intensity distribution data. At the time of the frequency analysis of the Doppler signal, the Doppler signal is used for at least 20% of the total number of analysis data and the rest of the data is set to be 0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
