PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To address the problem with conventional soaking blocks for thermostatic device that heat flowing in or out through an open part of a hole into which an object of thermostatic control, such as a temperature sensor, is inserted gives rise to a wide temperature difference between upper and lower parts and accordingly an uneven temperature distribution. SOLUTION: A soaking block for thermostatic device is a double-structured substantially columnar block comprising a thermostatic control object housing sub-block and a heating/cooling sub-block, the soaking block having a hole for housing an object of thermostatic control through which the object of thermostatic control is housed in a direction from the top face toward the bottom face and a first contact area that comes into contact with the heating/cooling sub-block from the upper face side, wherein the heating/cooling sub-block has a block housing hole whose top face is open and through which the thermostatic control object housing sub-block can be housed in an inscribed way and a second contact area that comes into contact with the first contact area and, in a state of holding the housing block in the heating/cooling sub-block, there is a space between the inner wall face of the block housing hole and the outer wall face of the thermostatic control object housing sub-block.
