PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum dryer which improves the drying efficiency of an object to be treated in the vacuum dryer, shortens a drying time, and suppresses the deterioration of the quality of the object to be treated by setting a temperature of the object to be treated during a drying process within a proper range, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The high-speed stirring-type vacuum dryer has a stirring blade in a stirring tank with a jacket, and dries the object to be treated by evacuating the stirring tank by using a vacuum pump. The high-speed stirring-type vacuum dryer also includes piping for supplying gas such as air to the stirring tank and an air flow rate adjustment mechanism, and can adjust the internal pressure of the stirring tank by introducing the gas adjusted in flow rate into the stirring tank.
