A refrigerator according to the present invention includes: a body including an internal storage chamber; an illumination device which is arranged on a side of the storage chamber to illuminate the inside of the storage chamber; a door which is rotatably mounted on a side of the body to open or close the storage chamber; a front panel which is arranged on the front surface of the door and is made of a transparent material; a transparentization film which is attached on the rear surface of the front panel and becomes transparent when applied with power; a power supply unit which supplies power to the transparentization film and the illumination device; and a control unit which controls the power supply unit to sync the operation of the illumination device with the operation of the transparentization film.
