PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and reliably insert a terminal in a connector housing even when a position of a core wire crimping part of each terminal is displaced from a center of an electric wire of a terminal with an electric wire in a vertical direction. SOLUTION: A terminal inserting device 1 comprises a pair of right and left terminal chucks 2 for inserting a terminal having an inward projection part 3 for supporting a terminal; a terminal pressing member 5 for pressing a core wire crimping part 4a of a terminal with an electric wire to the projection part 3 from above; measuring means 17 for measuring height of the core wire crimping part relative to the center of the electric wire 21; an up/down adjusting guide 9 for elevating the terminal chucks together with the terminal pressing member according to measuring results and correcting upward/downward inclination of the terminal; and a motor 10. The measuring means 17 measure the height of the core wire crimping part relative to the center of the electric wire while the core wire crimping part 4a is pressed to the projection part 3 from above.
