An apparatus for adjusting white balance based on the temperature changes of a laser projector comprises the following: R, G, B laser diodes which emit red-green-blue (R, G, B) light respectively; a driving unit to drive the R, G, B laser diodes; first to third temperature sensors to sense the temperature of each of the R, G, B laser diodes; first to third light detectors to detect the strength of outputs of the R, G, B laser diodes; and a controller which acquires tri-stimulus values (X, Y, Z) for the target white balance, acquires the center wavelength values of the R, G, B laser diodes, acquires the color-matching function values corresponding to the center wavelength values of the R, G, B laser diodes, determines the strength of outputs of the R, G, B laser diodes for the target white balance based on relations between the tri-stimulus values, the center wavelength values of the R, G, B laser diodes, and the strength of outputs of the R, G, B laser diodes, and that controls the strength of the outputs of the R, G, B laser diodes to be the strength of outputs of the R, G, B laser diodes for the target white balance by controlling the driving unit. According to the present invention, it is possible to adjust the white balance of a laser projector to be the target white balance amount even if the wavelengths of light outputted from laser diodes changes due to temperature changes, thereby preventing deterioration in quality of an image caused by the temperature changes. |
