Disclosed is a radio frequency (RF) communication circuit having an input for receiving an RF signal and providing independently gain controlled signal paths from the input. In a first signal path, the signal is amplified by a constant gain. In a second signal path, the signal is amplified by a constant gain and by a variable gain amplifier.

receiving, with a first amplification circuit, a signal from a source to produce an output signal; producing, with a second amplification circuit, an amplified signal from the output signal; processing the output signal with first processing circuitry; and processing the amplified signal with second processing circuitry, wherein each of the first processing circuitry and the second processing circuitry includes a radio frequency circuit.
