A method for coding a digital audio signal, said method being performed by a coding entity comprising a processing unit, a transform coder and a predictive coder, comprising the steps of: receiving a digital audio signal by the processing unit and determining a first and a second sequence of samples of the digital audio signal; coding, by the transform coder, of the first sequence of samples according to a transform coding; coding, by the predictive coder, of the second sequence of samples according to a predictive coding; wherein the second sequence begins before the end of the first sequence, a sub-sequence of samples being common to the first and second sequences, the sub-sequence being coded at the same time by predictive coding and by transform coding.
