摘要 One or more embodiments disclosed herein provide methods and systems for indexing video recordings of scenes using artifacts. More specifically one or more embodiments provide methods which identify artifacts in video recordings and index the video recordings according to the artifacts. These methods and systems also output portions of the video recordings according to the artifact-based indexing.

A system comprising: one or more processors; a user input device; a display; a memory storing a video recording of a scene and an electronic file; and computer readable instructions maintained in the memory and executable by the one or more processors to perform acts comprising: presenting, on the display, the video recording of the scene, wherein the scene was substantially static during a time the video recording was recorded, the video recording at least recording one or more appearance changes being made to the electronic file;accepting a first input from the user input device selecting an object from multiple objects displayed in the video recording presented on the display, the object being selected in response to the first input positioning an indicator on or near the object as displayed in the video recording presented on the display;responsive to the first input, identifying an artifact of the object in the video recording of the substantially static scene;searching the video recording of the substantially static scene for an appearance change in the artifact of the object as the artifact of the object is displayed in the video recording;outputting on the display a portion of the video recording of the substantially static scene from about a time that the appearance change in the artifact of the object occurred;accepting a second input indicative of a change to an appearance of the electronic file as recorded in the video recording of the scene; andresponsive to the second input, outputting on the display another portion of the video recording of the substantially static scene from about a time that the change to the appearance of the electronic file as recorded in the video recording occurred.
