<p>PURPOSE: A method for releasing status information automatically in a mobile terminal is provided to enable a user to convert status information into a normal mode automatically when the mobile terminal is converted into the normal status actually after the mobile terminal is set as the specific status information. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal judges whether the fixed status information set in itself is specific status information or not (S1). If the status information is the specific status information, the mobile terminal judges whether the actual status of a current user comes under the specific status information or not, by using a sensing value of sensors embedded in itself (S5). If the actual status of the current user does not come under the specific status information according to the judgment result, the mobile terminal releases the specific status information (S6).
