Provided are a method and apparatus for recycling a refrigerator which include steps of: conveying a refrigerator along a first conveyor; determining whether the refrigerator conveyed along the first conveyor is a refrigerator adopting a vacuum insulator or a refrigerator unadopting a vacuum insulator; conveying the refrigerator determined as a refrigerator unadopting a vacuum insulator along the first conveyor, and clamping the refrigerator determined as a refrigerator adopting a vacuum insulator to convey along a second conveyor; separating and removing an outer wall plate of the refrigerator adopting a vacuum insulator conveyed along the second conveyor by cutting the outer wall plate of the refrigerator; reconveying the refrigerator adopting a vacuum insulator without the outer wall plate to the first conveyor; and conveying both of the refrigerator unadopting a vacuum insulator conveyed along the first conveyor and the refrigerator adopting a vacuum insulator without the outer wall plate along the first conveyor to a postprocessing process to postprocess the refrigerators.
