<p>The present invention provides a method for managing fax data received via a network, comprising the steps of classifying fax data received via a network according to user and converting the fax data into an image file, encrypting the image file and storing the encrypted image file; authenticating a user; decrypting the encrypted image file and transmitting the decrypted image file to the user computer when a request for reading the fax is received from a user computer; and re-encrypting the read image file when the reading of the fax is completed. According to the present invention, fax data can be encrypted by using a public key set in a security server by the user in advance by using a public key algorithm (Rivest Shamir Adleman (RSA) method, etc.), and thereafter, when the user logs in, the user can simply read his or her fax by inputting information (residing only in a RAM of the security server) regarding a private key (decryption key). In this case, when the user logs out, the private key is deleted from the RAM of a fax data management apparatus, whereby, since the private key is not stored in any storage device, fax information security can be strengthened.</p> |
