Disclosed is a drum washing machine capable of discharging high hard water directly without the deterioration of a washing performance when an ion exchange resin of a water softening device is regenerated. The drum washing machine includes a body; a tub formed inside the body to receive washing water; a water supply device supplying water to the tub; a water discharging device discharging the water from the tub; and a water softening device including a water softening unit in which an ionized resin to soften the washing water supplied from the water supply device is embedded and a regeneration unit regenerating water softening power of the water softening unit. The drum washing machine is characterized in that the water softening device includes a discharge unit connected to the water discharging device and discharging high regenerating hard water passing through the regeneration unit and water softening unit directly not to affect washing performance.
