The aid (1) has an external unit i.e. hearing aid programming device (2), exchanging data with the hearing aid, where the external unit is positioned on a lanyard (3) to be worn around a neck of a hearing aid wearer. Two antennas (31, 32) are positioned in the lanyard, where one of the two antennas is connected by an electric series circuit to other antenna. Data is coupled from the hearing aid into the latter antenna, and two diodes (35) are oriented in opposing directions, where the diodes are positioned in parallel to the former antenna. An independent claim is also included for a method for wireless transmission of data between a hearing aid and an external unit.
