The present invention relates to a telepresence apparatus, which enables various verbal or non-verbal interactions between a remote user and a local user. According to an embodiment, a telepresence apparatus may include a camera with a direction control unit coupled thereto, a projector provided on the top of camera to be controlled along with the camera by the direction control unit such that the orientation of the projector can be adjusted, and a control unit configured to operate the direction control unit to adjust the orientation of the camera, to extract an object, at which a remote user gazes, from an image obtained by the oriented camera, to generate a projector image related to the extracted object, and to control the projector to project the projector image around the object. |
