<p>An apparatus and a method for creating a codebook in a MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication system are provided to implement the hardware of a UE(User Equipment) simply while maintaining the merits of a closed loop communication control technique. An apparatus for creating a codebook in a MIMO communication system comprises a matrix expanding part(310) and a codebook creating part(320). The matrix expanding part multiplies one or more diagonal matrixes having the elements of a constrained set as diagonal elements by a base matrix and creates a candidate matrix set. Based on the candidate matrix set, the codebook creating part creates a codebook to maximize the minimum distance between elements. Each element of the codebook is a matrix having columns as many as the number of simultaneously transmitted data streams.</p> |
