A developing unit and an image forming apparatus using the same includes: a photoresist having an electrostatic latent image, a supply roller which supplies a developer, a developing member which transfers the developer supplied from the supply roller to the photoresist, a regulation member which regulates the amount of the developer transmitted from the developing member, and a protection member which has a protection blade separated from one side of the regulation member to protect the regulation member. Damage to the regulation member and defects can be prevented. The regulation member can be protected from an external environment.
