This electrical storage apparatus is provided with: a first connecting terminal having one of a power supply apparatus and a load apparatus connected thereto; a second connecting terminal having the other one of the power supply apparatus and the load apparatus connected thereto; a bus bar; an electrical storage unit; a charge/discharge unit; a control unit; a current detecting unit, which detects at least two currents of a first current that flows to the bus bar from the first connecting terminal, a second current that flows to the bus bar from the second connecting terminal, and a third current that flows to the charge/discharge unit from the bus bar; and a connecting direction determining unit, which determines which of the apparatuses, i.e., the power supply apparatus and the load apparatus, is connected to the first connecting terminal. The charge/discharge unit exclusively performs charge operations and discharge operations, and the control unit controls the charge/discharge unit, on the basis of determination results obtained from the connecting direction determining unit, and detection results obtained from the current detecting unit, so as to have the charge/discharge unit perform switching between the charge operations and the discharge operations. |
