<p>A DIELECTRIC LOADED HELICAL ANTENNA COMPRISES A DIELECTRIC CYLINDRICAL CORE (5) MOUNTED ON A REFLECTOR (3) AND AN ELONGATE ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE ANTENNA ELEMENT (2) HAVING TWO ENDS, WHEREIN A FIRST END (6) IS CONNECTED TO A FEED OR SIGNAL PORT (7) MOUNTED ON THE REFLECTOR (3). THE ANTENNA ELEMENT (2) IS HELICALLY WOUND AROUND THE CORE (5) IN A NUMBER OF SPACED TURNS WHILE MAINTAINING A CONSTANT GAP (8) FROM THE SIDE SURFACE OF THE CORE (5) WITH THE SECOND END (1) BEING FREE. ANY DIRECT PHYSICAL CONTACT OF THE ANTENNA ELEMENT (2) WITH THE CORE (5) IS PRECLUDED. ALSO DISCLOSED IS SUCH A DESIGN, CUSTOMIZED FOR WAP LAN IEEE 802.11 B/G 2.4 GHZ TO 2.48 GHZ APPLICATIONS. THE CUSTOMIZED ANTENNA RADIATES ITS ELECTROMAGNETIC PROPERTIES AT THE SECOND END (1) OF THE HELIX IN A HEMISPHERE NEARLY OMNI-DIRECTIONALLY, BEING STRONGEST HORIZONTALLY RELATIVE TO THE VERTICAL AXIAL LENGTH (10) OF THE CORE.
