Disclosed is a hot water system (100). The hot water system (100) includes a water tank (110) for storing water, at least one heating device (160) for heating water stored in said water tank (110), an electronic controller (120) adapted to control operation of the hot water system (100) and a wireless communications transceiver coupled to the electronic controller (120). The wireless communications transceiver is adapted to perform bi-directional communications with a remote apparatus (190) having a user interface, such as a mobile telephone. The electronic controller (120) is responsive to commands transmitted from the remote apparatus (190) to the electronic controller (120) via the wireless communications transceiver. |
