The device (1) has a cell i.e. lithium-ion battery, that is partly embedded in a heat-conducting and electrically insulating resin. A flange (10) holds the cell inside a housing (2) that is made of heat conductive material, where the flange includes a cylindrical opening. The cell comprises a safety valve and the opening is arranged in the flange facing the safety valve. The flange includes a peripheral groove that is provided with an adhesive joint arranged face to face with regard to a cap (17). The cell is arranged with a cylindrical portion. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electrical power storage device.
